Hi, I am Sheila of Sheila's Jewelry Box. Sheila's Jewelry Box is a small website business, Hopefully, this photo will help put a face to the name.
I've always been into crafts, and jewelry was one of them, unfortunately, due to my previous workload I wasn't able to focus. Now that I have the time, it has allowed me to concentrate, explore, and work on my craft. There is always something new to explore in handcrafted jewelry. I'm constantly learning, and in that process of learning, I was overwhelmed by the various websites available to you when getting started. It took me several months to find the right website that would fit my needs and budget. Once that was decided, thankfully, I had some help and guidance in getting started with my website, including federal and state registering regarding business name and logo.
Previously being involved in crafts gave me a little edge on knowing what suppliers to use, but I am constantly on the lookout for new ones. This is somewhat of a challenge when you're in the market for a unique item.
Another challenge I have is E-Commerce Marketing. Some individuals make it seem so easy, and some individuals have admitted that it is hard. Frankly, it is hard, but I will continue to work at it if I want my business to grow and expand. By living in a small rural town, you don't have the opportunity to frequently attend a craft show or pop-up shop event. These are the reasons I am focusing on building the popularity of my website and a customer's list.
Having customers give you their feedback on the items they like as well as buy is the greatest feeling there is. This lets me know that my ideas and creations are liked and loved by someone other than myself. This gives me the feeling of pure satisfaction.
I am continuing to work on growing my business, and it has not yet reached the potential I dream for it, but building a business is not easy, nor will it happen overnight. If it is something that you love and is passionate about you won't give up.
I remember what someone told me when I started this journey, "You're never too old to follow your dreams."
